Description:
This experiential workshop will provide therapists with economical play therapy interventions to reinforce coping skill development for groups and individuals–for less than twenty dollars per group. 4 interventions will be discussed based upon the components of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (mindfulness, interpersonal, emotion management, and distress tolerance). The workshop will also provide an understanding of the importance of kinetic reinforcement of coping skill development in play therapy and invite participants to share cost-effective play therapy interventions to teach coping skills of their own.
Objectives:
Participants will:
1. Understand the connection between learning styles and the importance of kinetic reinforcement to teach coping skills.
2. Experience 4 play therapy interventions based upon the components of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (mindfulness, interpersonal, emotion management and distress tolerance).
3. Share economical play therapy interventions to teach coping skills.
Schedule:

Lunch (Soup and Salad)
12:00-3:30 Experiencing Play therapy interventions to teach coping skills.
Sharing and Developing Play Therapy Interventions to teach coping skills.
3:30-4:00: Evaluations
CEU’s:
This workshop will provide 6 APT CEU’s or Contact Hours. Partial hours are permitted with prior approval. By The Sea Seminars (APT Approved Provider #04-144) takes full responsibility for this workshop. Per the Maine Licensed Professional Counselors Board and Maine Board of Social Work , it is up to the individual to decide if the program enhances his/her professional competence.
Participants:
This workshop is designed for therapists (school counselors, psychologists, social workers, licensed professional counselors, or others in the mental health field) working with children.

Size:
The Roundtable is intentionally kept small to encourage ongoing relationships and discussion. Limited to 16 participants.
