Play Therapy and Brainspotting (3 CEU’s)

Brainspottng is a powerful, focused treatment method that works by identifying, processing, and releasing core neurophysiological sources of emotional/body pain, trauma, dissociation and a variety of other challenging symptoms. It has also been successful with performance enhancement. This workshop is intended to give an overview of the treatment modality and its uses in both play therapy and play therapists self-care.

Objectives:

  1. Participants will understand the definition of brainspotting.
  2. Participants will understand the uses for brainspotting as a form of self-care for play therapists.
  3. Participants will understand the application and uses of brainspotting in play therapy.

Play Therapy and Court (3 CEU’s)

This workshop will prepare play therapists going to court, and also aid them in preparing child-clients who may need to testify.

Objectives:

  1. Participants will understand the duties and obligations to client/parent upon receiving a subpoena.
  2. Participants will learn how to write play therapy notes for cases going to court.
  3. Participants will learn how to prepare both the client and themselves for court.

 

Presenter for both workshops:

 

Robyn Greene, LCPC is a frequent presenter at the Roundtable and on the Moving Stories Play Therapy Method. She is certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), EMDR & Brainspottting. Her work for many years focused on family reunification, child sexual abuse, trauma, anger management, domestic violence, substance abuse and parenting. Currently she works in a school and in a limited private practice.

9-12:                 Play Therapy and Brainspotting

Lunch:             On your own in Eastport

1:00-4:00:        Play Therapy and Court

4:00-4:30:        Evaluation

 

CEU’s:

This workshop series will provide 6 APT CEU’s or Contact Hours. Partial hours are permitted with prior approval.  By The Sea Seminars (APT Approved Provider #04-144)  takes full responsibility for this workshop.   Per the Maine Licensed Professional Counselors Board and Maine Board of Social Work , it is up to the individual to decide if the program enhances his/her professional competence.

 

Participants:

This workshop is designed for therapists (school counselors, psychologists, social workers, licensed professional counselors, or others in the mental health field) working with children.

 

Cost:

$125 (Pre-registration required).  Need-based scholarships available, space permitting

 

Size:

The Roundtable is intentionally kept small to encourage ongoing relationships and discussion.  Limited to 16 participants.

 

Cancellation Policy:

Refund of 50% provided with 24 hours notice.
